Train-Platform Schools. innovative. :D

Heyo people! :P
sorry, cola-high again.
so, basically, a few weeks back we had a leadership programme going on in our school and they made us do this super awesome exercise. in that, they told us this main-main story/experience of a woman named Inderjit Khurana who was a teacher. So the story kinda followed like this. She was on her way to work one day via train. And she saw children begging for money at the platforms. In India, this isnt that rare of a site. its's not only in platforms. its in general places as well, roads, open-markets. like that. coming back to the topic, she decided to do something towards this problem. and by progressing and progressing she ended up making twenty such schools in Bhubhaneshwar, Orissa, India. So that was it. then, the fun part. okay, a lotta people thought it was drab in my class. but i loved it! actually, thats kinda cause i like to write. (hence, the blog) :P
we had to write a speech that addressed the...umm....people? of society. yeah. which stated the "journey", message, help, etc. for this initiative. and i wrote one. thought you might like it. will you? well, see for yourself.

A child's daily routine was to go to the train station and beg from train passengers for money. Today, that SAME child's daily routine is to go to the SAME station, yet with a different purpose. To learn. To get educated. He is allowed to do so due to the "train platform schools" whose main aim is to "take the school to the most out-of-school children". 20 such schools are already bustling with action. If 20 such came up in 30 more cities, imagine what could happen! Illiteracy is a huge issue in our nation. People complain, do they do anything about it? They complain and half an hour later forget about it. Think about the children. Place yourselves in their shoes and think. Today, I ask you to do a favour for these children around India. Spread this theme of schooling across various cities. Realistically, this isn't something EXTREMELY humoungous, but it's a strt. You need to learn to crawl before you can walk, for now atleast. To end with, a few days back, I read on the cover of a notebook, "There are still millions who only dream of a school." And, it's true. So let's make it a reality. A reality for this earth. Thank You.

HA! awesome right? studious!!! okay, i have no clue why i just said that. so, yeah. it really left me dumbstruck. a few days back (8th Aug, precisely) it was my birthday! yes, yes, i know. you may comment and wish me a belated happy birthday and stuff. and yes, i had a wonderful day. okay, alright, jokes apart. i got the BESTESTESTEST birthday gift from my mom and dad. These people from the CRY foundation. i know, the name actually made me cry. :| :P they came to our house, and they told us stuff about how parents used to sell (yeah, SELL) their kids for a 100bucks or a bottle of liquor or something like that. and then those kids were kept as workers in harzadous factories and servents, and well, for some, uhhhh.....unacceptable practices, (you get what i mean, right? i dont think you're THAT stupid. okay, you're not. sorry. :) ) and they were asking for sponserships for their education. so my beloved (yes, they're cool, kay?!) 'rents sponsered (in the sunny and happy way they say on Hit95FM) a kid for her education for a year. like, for some reason i was really happy and proud of myself. okay okay, i know it wasnt MY money. but im not working. im studying so then i can get a job. and then get my own money. the process takes time, bro. so. yes. thats all that i wanted to say to you. and see, i kept my promise, to post something AT LEAST a month. done done. :D :P
thanks a ton for actually reading the gibberish (is cool!) i write here.
see ya later. awesome hugs.
